The Community Building Partnership Grants supported 1st Bega Scout Group with renovating their male and female toilets in 2017. Both toilet blocks were repainted and new skylights were installed. The toilet doors and window frames were also restored, and windows were reglazed.

The World Scout Moot in Ireland has been officially postponed until mid-2022. While this news may be disappointing to some, the decision was made to ensure the safety and well being of all attendees, and now gives Rovers more time to save, prepare, look forward to the event.

Please be advised that the World Scout Committee together with Scouting Ireland and the Moot Planning Team have made the unanimous decision to postpone the 16th World Scout Moot until summer 2022.

This decision was made to ensure the safety and wellbeing of attendees as well as to maximise the opportunity for eligible participants who have been financially impacted by the current pandemic to attend the event after the global community returns to some normalcy.

The new proposed event dates in 2022 as well as any revised age restrictions will be announced in July 2020.

The results of the Scouts Australia Resilience Survey are in, and it’s official – young people who participate in Scouts have an overall better life satisfaction than their peers, and the longer they stay in Scouts the more resilient they are likely to become.

This is exciting news for our Scouting community across the country, as it reaffirms what we’ve known for over 113 years – Scouting and resilience go hand in hand!
